Exploring the Hard/Soft Side of Succession Planning
Join us IN PERSON for the first of a NOW QUARTERLY series of SUCCESSION PLANNING sessions as we discuss the hard/soft side of succession planning for family businesses. This interactive peer group will address questions families want answered as they enter the stages of succession planning. In the process, we'll learn about your ideas/thoughts as we plan for upcoming “deeper dive” sessions.
We will explore the following:
- The fundamental concepts underlying a well-planned succession strategy: communication, legal, tax, insurance and more!
- What things get in the way and delay these plans? Emotions? Not wanting a valuation? Not giving time to thinking about the process? Not accepting your own mortality?
- The company’s governing documents and the difference between the company and the owners (separation of assets, outdated operating agreements and more!)
