If an employee is not an exempt employee\, they must be paid time and   for all hours worked over 40 in the workweek.  \n\n\n\nThe standard salary level to be an exempt employee will change from $455 a week/$23\,660 a year to $913 a week/$47\,476 a year.  The salary level for Highly Compensated Employees will change from $100\,000 a year to  $134\,000 a year.
